Garrett haas, born in 1986, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. An unpretentious post industrial place with a rich history in music and art, among other things.

Shaped by the cities institutional art infuences but moreso it’s “side-door” underground artists and graffiti writers. Like them, Haas is self taught and resourceful, bending or simply not concerned with conventional paths.

Like many from Cleveland he eventually left and spent time traveling in Germany, Prague, Lisbon and Japan. Finding new experiences and reference points on his way to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.

All his work was lost in the recent wildfires in LA, but a new body of work is emerging. Different from what he had done previously, but still holding the same ethos.

He has exhibited work in strange places, bridges, abandoned buildings, but also hotels, and cafes.
